To keep up with the abundance of papers that catch our eye, everybody in the lab brings one paper to our journal club (second Tuesday of the month) to discuss what they learned, what they liked (and disliked) in an informal discussion without any slides.

The lists below are a highlight of what caught our attention and give some insight into the broad interests of the lab.

  • Understanding the neural code of stress to control anhedonia. Xia et al. Nature 2025

  • Stress-activated neuronal ensemble in the supramammillary nucleus stores anxiety but not memory. Zhang et al. bioRxiv 2025

  • Ketamine induces plasticity in a norepinephrine-astroglial circuit to promote behavioral perseverance. Duque et al. Neuron 2025

  • Treadmill exercise prevents stress-induced anxiety-like behaviors via enhancing the excitatory input from the primary motor cortex to the thalamocortical circuit. Luo et al. Nat Comms 2025

  • Perineuronal Nets on CA2 Pyramidal Cells and Parvalbumin-Expressing Cells Differentially Regulate Hippocampal-Dependent Memory. Alexander et al. J Neurosci 2025
